Welcome to Iberia Restaurant

Setting the standard for Spanish food on the West Coast since 1984.

OUR HISTORY: Born in Seville and raised in Barcelona, Jose Luis Relinque moved to California at the age of twenty. By the age of thirty, the charismatic, self-taught young chef opened his first restaurant - the ground breaking and critically-acclaimed Spanish Restaurante Iberia in Portola Valley, near the heart of Silicon Valley.

To keep the Spanish experience fresh and contemporary, Jose Luis frequently visits Spain and always brings back plenty of anecdotes to enhance every dish in his repertoire of recipes.

After sixteen years in Portola Valley, Iberia moved to a new home in Menlo Park in late August 2000. The new restaurant features a glorious patio shaded by an ancient oak, a cozy bar de tapas with a wood-burning fire, a colorful and romantic dining room, a wood-paneled banquet room with private patio, and the wine library: a second-story glass-fronted wine room that houses the 15,000 bottle collection of Spanish and Californian red wines. Besides having won the prestigious Wine Spectator Magazine's Award of Excellence, Iberia boasts the most comprehensive collection of fine Spanish wines in the entire United States.

In the Spring of 2001 Iberia opened The Rock of Gibraltar Comestibles, a retail food store offering all of Iberias's favorite dishes "to go", as well as the largest resource for imported Spanish food products in Northern California. The Rock also has cooking programs that are hands-on and allowes students free run of Iberia's kitchens. Conveniently, The Rock is located next just next door to Iberia.
